He-Man MOTU Chronicles In-Hand Images

Kyle Peterson came through with some fantastic in-hand shots of the Masters of the Universe Chronicles He-Man, and you can check out his original post over on Instagram. I’ve been watching this line with a lot of curiosity since getting an in-person view at Toy Fair 2026, and seeing the Chronicles He-Man outside of official promo shots really helps put things into perspective. The sculpt leans into a stylized, movie aesthetic that sets it apart from the Origins and Masterverse lines, giving collectors something that feels fresh while still unmistakably channeling that classic Eternian hero we all grew up with. From these images, the proportions look solid, the paint apps appear clean, and the overall presentation carries a charm that I think will resonate with fans who appreciate a more illustrated, storybook quality to their figures. The accessories and posability on display here give a good sense of what this figure can do on a shelf or in a display, and it’s clear Mattel is carving out a distinct identity for the Chronicles line. Whether you’re deep into MOTU collecting or just keeping tabs on where the brand is headed, these photos are worth a close look.

Figure Details

Armed with the Power Sword held high, He-Man looks like he’s just transformed from his alter ego Prince Adam, channeling the classic “I have the power” moment. His chest armor features a red iron cross emblem at its center, with silver and brown detailing across the harness, belt, and wrist guards that all have a nice weathered metallic finish.

A close-up reveals the paint app on the Power Sword’s blade, which has a clean, reflective quality to it. The forearm gauntlets show layered sculpt work with gold rivets and raised panels over brown leather-textured straps, and Kyle’s tight framing here really lets you appreciate those smaller details.

The sculpt on He-Man’s chest armor shows a layered construction, with the silver plate sitting over brown leather straps secured by small gold rivets running along the edges. His loin armor has a segmented skirt design with stitching details sculpted into the dark brown panels, each tab finished with small square buckle accents at the bottom.

He-Man carries the Power Sword low while his opposite arm is raised with a clenched fist, a pose that really shows off the those new butterfly joints in the shoulders. That head sculpt is really solid, with soft golden hair framing a determined expression and clean facial features.

A close-up reveals the likeness work on the face, and there’s a strong Nicholas Galitzine resemblance in the jawline, brow structure, and slightly parted lips. The hair sculpt has individual strand detail with a natural sweep and volume, catching a warm golden tone that contrasts nicely against the dark brown studded leather of the shoulder armor beneath it.

He-Man’s head sculpt looks almost comically oversized here, swapped with a vintage Origins-style head, and it immediately gives off strong Mondo He-Man vibes. I like how the mismatch actually highlights just how different the proportions are between the two figure lines, with that bright yellow bowl-cut sitting on top of the more realistically proportioned body.

Two versions of He-Man stand side by side, and the size difference is immediately apparent, with the Chronicles figure on the leftstanding noticeably taller and broader than the Masterverse Movie version on the right The Masterverse figure sports gold-toned shoulder pauldrons with skull-like sculpted faces, a deep burgundy soft goods cape with real drape and weight, and ornate gold shin guards, all of which give him a much heavier, more armored look compared to the more streamlined movie design.

Standing side by side here, with the smaller Core figure on the left and the larger Chronicles version on the right, and the scale difference is substantial.

He-Man stands next to Flint for a solid scale comparison, and the two figures match up well in height, confirming the Chronicles figure sits comfortably in that 1/12 scale range alongside other collector lines.

He-Man stands next to what appears to be a WWE Elite Hollywood John Cena, showing how the Chronicles figure scales with other 1/12 collector lines.
