Vypor MOTU Origins 360 Degree Card Art Tease

Roy Juarez and team officially revealed a carded video of the forthcoming MOTU Origins Vypor! Vypor is another one of Axel Gimenez’s concepts that never got produced from the MOTU Classics line. Officially revealed back on March 26, 2024 as part of Mattel’s MOTU March madness reveals, Vypor will look amazing as the keeper of the Viper Tower and would make a fantastic addition to the Eternia playset scene! In an Instagram post, Roy said, “Origins Vypor, the Sinister Embodiment of Viper Tower and general for Lady Slither!”

Vypor Carded Images

Vypor comes packed on the Rise of the Snake Men card and his name is “Origins Vypor, Sinister Embodiment of Viper Tower.”

The art shows Vypor front and center holding his scepter with Eldor on his knees while Lady Slither looks on in the background! We got wind that Eldor (and He-Ro) were coming to the MOTU Origins line so this is further confirmation. There are also some other Snake Men characters that resemble Frog Monger in the scene so it will be great to see if those are extra illustrations were used to fill in the scene or if they will become new characters to help build out the Rise of the Snake Men theme started last year.

Vypor is also packed with his articulated jaw wide open and he looks amazing!

May 4, 2024: Vypor Cardback Full Sketch

Roy released another update to the MOTU Origins Vypor illustration, which shows the full sketch! We can clearly see Eldor on his knees in front of Vypor. We also get a better look at the other new Snake Men in the scene, along with Lady Slither and her throne. Special thank to sir Eldor himself, masterversal_toyhunter, for giving us a heads up!!!

May 3, 2024: Vypor Cardback Tease

Eldor Tease

Back on Christmas eve 2023, Axel Gimenez is back at it again as he posted a photo on his Instagram page of the Super7 vintage Masters of the Universe Eldor figure that is on card and unopened. He simply put “✨Working…✨” in his post and the last time he did this, he featured an image of the Super7 vintage Masters of the Universe He-Ro, which can only mean one thing. Based on a recent post made by Mattel, they spilled the beans and made it publicly known that the MOTU Origins Eternia box art featured a ton of easter eggs as the Origins line is known for those teases turning into figures. Eldor was conspicuously missing from the teases on the Eternia box art so we are taking this a very good sign that (1) Eldor is coming to the Masters of the Universe and (2) that the Powers of Grayskull are headed to the Masters of the Universe Origins line.

Eldor Teased on Camo Khan Card Art

With absolutely stunning artwork by Axel Gimenez, the front of the Camo Khan card back features all sorts of exciting MOTU characters. We can see a host of Powers of Grayskull characters. We have Megator, King Hiss riding the Tyrantisaurus Rex. We can also see Tung Lashor, Rattlor, Squeeze and Snake Face, who were also teased to be coming to the Origins line! King Grayskull is riding Bionatops, and as we saw on the Eternia display, there was an Origins version of King Grayskull as well! We already saw Rattlor and King Hiss revealed at SDCC just last month, so we know those Snake Men are coming! Then we see teases of Moss Man and Sharella, as we covered in Wun-Dar Card Art Teases New MOTU Origins Characters. Also pictured is Eldor, Turbodactyl and Tytus as well! Also illustrated is Castle Grayskull and the recently revealed Eternia playset! There are so many characters here that we have either predicted thru previous card art teases or haven gotten leaks on, so it is very exciting to see these characters on this artwork!

Eldor Trademark Renewal

You can read all about Eldor’s creation and back story on the Eldor: (1987/2019) battleramblog.com. The trademark for Eldor was renewed by Mattel on 06/22/2021, so we can see that was also fairly recently. Let’s hope Mattel has plans for perhaps a “Powers of Grayskull” sub-line! How awesome would that be? I would love to get a vac-metal He-Ro as well in the Origins style articulation!!!

Vypor Preorder Information and Official Images

The Toy Habits community does not disappoint! Special thanks to Aaron for giving us a heads up that Vypor is now on the Walmart website. This lines up with intel we received back in March 2024 that Vypor and Reptilax were coming to Walmart. Ir was just yesterday that we discovered that the Turtles of Grayskull Mer-Man was on Walmart but the listing was only available in certain cities so you need to have a magic zip code and store to make it appear. Unfortunately, this is the case for Vypor too as he is a geofenced listing but here are the details to pull it up! Use the zip code 84123 and set your store to the Taylorsville Supercenter! Also, don’t forget that Vypor is also on Amazon too and we’ll update this article if Vypor appears anywhere else!

April 19, 2024: Vypor Amazon Listing Discovered

Special thanks to friend of Toy Habits, Dan Diego for the heads up that MOTU Origins Vypor Amazon Listing has been found! If you recall, Vypor was part of the MOTU Origins AND Cartoon Collection Fall 2024 Figure Lineup, but Vypor was not part of the preorder drops that followed the next day. Well now we have tracked down the Amazon listing, which is great news, because that confirms he is a Fan Channel Exclusive, like Amazon, BBTS & EE! Currently there are no official images, and the item shows out of stock probably because the Amazon listing has not gone live yet, but stay tuned here, and we will update you, when it does! Amazon has also updated Vypor’s product page

April 19, 2024 Update: Vypor Official Images

The official images of Vypor have been uploaded to Amazon and he looks amazing! Looks like they made his armor a deeper gold and he looks fantastic!!! Here are the product details for Vypor and the images show his articulated jow:

• Based on the original design by Axel Gimenez, this character was originally featured in the vintage Snake Men series. Now he appears as the deep-cuts Origins figure fans have been hoping for.
• Vypor is armored in a detailed harness with removable neck piece with 2 real metal chains and removable skirt armor. A Staff can augment battle moves and poses and a themed mini-comic provides story context.

He also comes with real changes and a very cool bone sceptor!

April 14, 2024 Update: Vypor Amazon Listing

Another character we got teased on the Eternia Box artwork was Vypor! That really cool looking red snake man that is reminiscent of the Viper tower of the Eternia playset. We recently covered that Vypor and Reptilax were coming to MOTU Origins line as fan channel exclusives! As designed in the MOTU Classics line, Vypor would reuse parts from Snake Face, Lord Dactus and Prahvus but he would need new armor, a new head and a new neck piece. What does make him a possibility is that his head sculpt is inspired by the Snake Tower from the Eternia playset, which comes out in 2024. Also as Mattel goes deeper into 200x , we could see Lord Dactus (who’s trademark was recently renewed by Mattel) and Prahvus as possible figures they could make out of Vypor., who are are both unique characters to that era of MOTU and strong contenders for figures for the MOTU Origins line.
