Skeletor MOTU Origins Movie In-Package Images

We’ve seen the initial reveal and the official images alongside Teela when preorders went up, but until now we hadn’t gotten a clean look at how the MOTU Origins Movie Skeletor actually presents on card, and thanks to motuc_photos_by_djansky on Instagram we now have in-package images that give us a much better sense of the Evil Lord of Destruction in his full retail presentation. The packaging framing really does make a difference here, because seeing the figure seated behind that movie-branded card art with the accessories laid out gives you a clearer read on the overall deco and proportions than loose promotional shots sometimes allow. What’s been interesting to follow in the comments from collectors is that this Skeletor seems to be landing better than some of the other movie Origins figures have, with several people noting that the sculpt and paint standing out as the best in the movie Origins line. That tracks with what I’ve been feeling since the first images surfaced, because the headsculpt in particular has a sharpness to it that walks the line between the movie design and the classic Skeletor in a way that works well on shelf. It’s also worth noting that this is a Target exclusive, so collectors will want to keep their eyes on availability as these start hitting stores and shipping out. Seeing these in-package shots always makes a release feel that much more real.

In-Package Images

Like the other MOTU Movie Origins figures, the card art bursts with fiery reds and oranges radiating outward, framing Skeletor MOTU Origins Movie In Package behind a clear plastic blister. His hooded skull head sculpt and ornate belt and loincloth detailing are clearly on display through the packaging.

The Havoc Staff is tucked into the tray beside the figure, its ram skull just peeking out above his shoulder. The loincloth has layered, segmented panels with intricate carved patterning that carries down into the boot armor as we get a real sense of what the production figure looks like down his colors.

Skeletor’s skull head sculpt has deep, hollow eye sockets with red dot detailing and sharply defined teeth, all framed by a purple hood with a textured, almost woven finish. The belt buckle carries an ornate, swirling relief that pairs well with the teal torso sculpt underneath. The pronounced striations running across the figure’s teal skin is what sets this figure apart. The sculpt uses these fine, layered grooves to define the chest, shoulders, arms, and abdomen, giving the musculature a fibrous, almost sinewy texture instead of a smooth surface.

The amazing artork from fetch.franciscoetchart really shines here as the artwork leans heavily into purples and fiery oranges, with crackling lightning filling the upper portion of the card.
