Entertainment Earth has put Mattel’s Masters of the Universe figure drops on their Drop Zone, which lists the months and times for the first half of 2024. According to the Drop Zone on EE, we can expect figure drops for the months of March, May, June, July, September, and October 2024. Knowing that we’ve heard from anonymous sources that Masterverse, MOTU Origins, and Turtles of Grayskull figures will be dropping in 2024, we have a good idea of what might be coming! Special thanks to Toy Habits Crew Member Rob for the heads up!!!

Mattel 2024 Figure Drop Dates

Right now, Entertainment Earth has laid out the release dates and times for the entire year in 2024! Below are the March and May dates and times.

There are also June and July 2024 dates and times!

Finally, we have September and October 2024 dates and times!

Turtles of Grayskull Waves 1, 2, and 3

Mattel announced their Spring line up TMNT MOTU Origins crossover figures back in November 2023 and we are so excited for the future figures coming down the line! In an Instagram post from @masters, they announced, “Dimensions collide as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their mutant foes join the Masters of the Universe in a new Spring ‘24 catalog. Introducing the Masters of the Universe Origins Turtles of Grayskull, coming soon!”

Turtle of Grayskull Lineup

From the checklist above, we can see the figures that are in the Spring lineup include:

  • Muted He-Man
  • Donatello
  • Man-At-Arms
  • Leonardo
  • Raphael
  • Muted Ram Man
  • Shredder
  • Beast Man
  • Mouse-Jaw
  • Sla’ker
  • Krang
  • Muted Moss Man

Turtles of Grayskull Wave 1

Man-At Arms

We can finally see Man-At-Arms stripped down to the bare essentials and all of the armor pieces and weapons are on display! He comes in his classic Man-At-Arms yellow armor that has been turtle’ized and even his classic mace is larger too! His chest armer has a nice fur look to it and some parts even resemble turtles, like this shield and his shoulder and leg armor.

Donatello also carries the same club/staff that Man-At-Arms does, and why wouldn’t he? He is also wearing MAA style armor so this is very fitting.

Leonardo comes with light blue armor that covers his left arm, part of his right arm, and his goods around the waist, which is samurai inspired.

Mutated He-Man

Muted He-Man looks as if he has a change in figure buck style as the official images show him with a solid figure sculpt, versus using translucent plastic!

The Official Images for Shredder look incredible! He has Hordak like feet and an Evil Horde Cross bow and cool axe as well!

Raphael comes with two oversized Sai’s for weapons, that stows neatly on his turtleshell!

Beast Man

Using the classic MOTU Origins Beast Man, this new Turtles of Grayskull version comes packed with a bunch of Samurai inspired accessories to give him that Ninja inspired look!

Mutated Ram Man

Mutated Ram Man is a throw back right to animal inspired TMNT mutants like Bebop and Rocksteady!

Turtles of Grayskull Wave 3

The new Turtles of Grayskull MOTU Origins TMNT Crossover figures have fans super excited as we get getting new information this incredible new subline! As we saw in the Turtles of Grayskull MOTU Origins Mini Comic Teases article, several new characters were being teased to be coming to the line. According to an anonymous source, Wave 3 of the new Turtles of Grayskull MOTU Origins figures will consists of:

  • Michaelangelo
  • Teela
  • Skeletor
  • Casey Jones

Since we only have the names of these figures in Wave 3, we will look at either teases thus far or what their character looks. As soon as more information is available or images revealed, we will be sure to update you!

Mikey is the fourth brother that has yet to be revealed in the Turtles of Grayskull MOTU Origins TMNT Crossover line. Well now we know he will be part of Wave 3! I can’t wait to see how they MOTUize him! We already know that from the mini comic tease, that he will have blonde hair and will be wearing Battle Armor, so he is an homage to Battle Armor He-Man. You can see in the image below what he looked like in the mini comic.

Turtles-of-Grayskull-Wave-1-Mini-Comic-Page-8 Teela Mikey Tease

It will be so cool to see our favorite pizza eating turtle dawning a blonde hairdo and battle armor. Here we can get an idea of what parts of Battle Armor He Man they might incorporate into the design. Will Michaelangelo get that rotating drum battle damage effect? Only time will tell, but this is very exciting!

We saw Teela in turtle gear teased on both the recent Box Art reveal by Roy Juarez for the upcoming Mouse-Jaw deluxe Turtles of Grayskull and in the mini comic shown above. So it is a foregone conclusion that she will be dressed in green turtle inspired MOTU armor as depicted below.

Here again is the tease for Teela from the mini comic and what the MOTU Origins Teela Figure looks like. Will they use the original version or the Cartoon Classics one as it is hard to tell from these illustrations.

MOTU Origins Teela vs Original Teela front

Skeletor is a must have for any MOTU Origins line. Of course we have to have the evil warriors leader himself in this figure line. The question here is how are they going to Turtlize him?

On Pages 9 and 10 fo the Mini Comic that came with Donatello, we get to see Skeletor at Snake Mountain. He was illustrated sitting on his bone throne and was joined by none other than Shredder in Horde armor and a Megator inspired Krang! But Skeletor is illustrated in his normal look, there is nothing TMNT about him, so this does not let us know what they might do to him to Turtlize him. But it will be fun to find out!

Source: The Man Child

I wonder what version of Skeletor’s face will we get in this line? Will it be the one with the articulated jaw like what came with Screech or will it be more like the vintage inspired version, or Cartoon Collection face sculpt?

Casey Jones

Casey Jones is a very cool TMNT character to include in this line. He has not yet been teased in any of the product illustrations so we don’t know how he will be MOTUized yet. Will he include his hockey gear somehow incorporated into Eternian battle gear? Only time will tell, but I can’t wait to find out!

The new Turtles of Grayskull MOTU Origins TMNT Crossover figures have fans super excited and the news doesn’t stop coming! The deluxe figures for this line thus far have all been either Walmart or Target Exclusives, as we discussed in Turtles of Grayskull Wave 1 & 2 Deluxe Big Box Retailer Exclusives. This wave is no exception, because according to an anonymous source there will be 2 Turtles of Grayskull MOTU Origins Deluxe exclusive figures that will be part of Wave 3 and they include:

  • Splinter (Target Exclusive)
  • Leatherhead ( Walmart Exclusive)

Since we only have the names of these Deluxe figures in Wave 3, we will look at either teases thus far or what their character looks. As soon as more information is available or images revealed, we will be sure to update you!

Splinter (Target Exclusive)

Splinter has got to be included in this new subline as the Turtles need their sensei! I can’t wait to see how Splinter turns out for this line! How will they MOTUize him? Will he be flocked or not? So many questions, but to suffice to say because he is a deluxe figure, nothing is off the table at this point!

Leatherhead (Walmart Exclusive)

Leatherhead, our favorite Cajun Gator is joining the line! He is one of the two exclusive figures that we actually got a tease for in the Mini Comic, which we covered in the Turtles of Grayskull MOTU Origins Mini Comic Teases article. The strange thing is that Leatherhead looks rather in his normal state. You can see his illustration in the image below. I can’t wait to see what this MOTU crossover version of Leatherhead will look like, especially since he is a deluxe figure! Here we can see the tease for Leatherhead as he struggles to hold on to Mutated He-Man

Masterverse 2024 Figures

Princess of Power Figures

An anonymouse source has tipped us off to expect more Princess of Power Mastersverse figures in 2024. With the Horde playing a central role in the upcoming Masters of the Universe Revolution Netflix series, it is safe to say that we might have some Princess of Power characters joining the Masterverse line. With the news that Leech and Emperor Hordak joining the Masterverse line in 2024 as part of the Wave 13 figure assortment, we are welcoming 3 ladies and one gentleman to the Princess of Power Masterverse subline. According to the anonymous source, Glimmer, Peekable, and Despara (the alter ego of She-Ra) are the ladies in the lineup. The “Special friend that helps She-Ra,” Bow, is also slotted to be coming to the Masterverse line in 2024. While we wait for Mattel to make the official reveal, lets learn more about these characters

Dark and deviant, she’s the evil alter ego of She-Ra, who is the alter-ego of Adora. Kidnapped as a baby and raised by Hordak, Adora fights for the Horde until twin brother He-Man reveals her true identity. Later, after the defeat of Hordak, the spirit of Horde Prime possesses her and the evil persona of Despara emerges once again. Despara is armed with two swords, battle staff, and an alternate evil head. Her figure was made for the MOTU Classics line and from what we’ve seen from Mattel lately, they are creating figures in the MOTU Origins line based on MOTU Classics figures. Fang-Or is a great example of a recent figure that was first made for the MOTU Classics line for the Origins line!

Despara Trademark Renewal

On August 22, 2023, Mattel filed to renew the trademark for Despara, which could mean one of two things! First, they could simply be renewing her trademark so that they do not lose the naming rights for the figure and, second, it could mean that a Despara release for the line is in the works!

Bow is renowned as the best archer in all of Etheria. Equipped with an array of trick arrows, he uses his skills of illusion and his fierce patriotism for Etheria to fight the Evil Horde. Bow is also Princess Adora’s right hand man and best friend. You will notice on the vintage PoP version, that Bow was missing his signature mustache, later corrected by including 2 different heads in the MOTU Classics version.

The vintage action figure of Bow stands at approximately 5.5 inches tall and is made of plastic. He is dressed in bright and colorful attire, featuring a red jacket with gold accents, matching pants, and white boots. Bow’s most recognizable feature is his distinctive helmet, which has heart-shaped cutouts on either side of his face.

The action figure comes with various accessories, including a crossbow, three arrows, a quiver, and a sword. The crossbow can be placed in Bow’s hand, and the arrows can be stored in the quiver on his back. The sword can be attached to his waist for easy access during battles.

We also have the second time that Bow was made into an action figure as part of the MOTU Classics line in 2011.

Glimmer is the Princess of Bright Moon, the very beautiful daughter of Queen Angella and King Micah. She was the original leader of the Great Rebellion of Etheria until Adora took over and helped to establish much of its support structure. One of the main characters when you think of the Great Rebellion, Glimmer has been made into action figure twice thus far, once for the vintage Princess of Power line of the 1980’s and next in the MOTU Classics line in the mid 2000’s. Let’s take a closer look below.

In an effort to bring girls into the action figure market, Mattel came up with the action doll in the Princess of Power line of the 1980’s. The vintage Glimmer Action Doll was released in 1984 by Mattel and came with a shimmery silver vest and skirt piece. She was dressed in pink and silver and had a jeweled pink staff. She had real rooted pink flowing hair that you could comb, and beautiful makeup on her face. She joined the rest of the rebellion in this new genre of action dolls.

Glimmer was later released as part of the MOTU Classics line by Mattel in 2012. In this release, she resembled her look in the 1980’s Filmation cartoon series, She-Ra Princess of Power. After getting Frosta for the Masterverse line, I think we know what we can expect.

Peekablue is a character of the She-Ra and the Princess of Power Filmation series. She is a member of the Great Rebellion and posses powers such as Clairvoyance, which her blue peacock feathers give her the ability of enhanced sight. With them, she is able to see into the far reaches of the universe.

Peekablue was released as a figure in the Masters of The Universe Classics line. Her MOTU Classics bio reads: “A magical princess of Etheria, Penelope has the power to see in all directions. Her fabulous peacock feathers fan out into a beautiful plumage which is the source of her powers and making her a master spy. She is so proud of them that she likes to strut around Etheria just to show them off. It is the eyes at the tips of these pretty plumes that give her the power of omnidirectional vision. This bird’s eye view of all Etheria lets her know when Catra and the Horde make mischief. After the Horde left Etheria, she joined She-Ra and the other members of the Great Rebellion on Eternia to continue to fight for freedom and peace. During the Second Ultimate Battleground she fought side by side with Man-E-Faces, eventually falling in love with him and choosing to stay on Eternia as a member of the Masters of the Universe.”

Masterverse Wave 13

We are using their Masters of the Universe Classics figures and concept art as stand-ins as no official images or information have been released yet. While we wait for official confirmation, you can read up on the history of the figures.

Thunder Punch He-Man

To take you way back in time, Thunder Punch He-Man was originally released in 1985, in Wave 4 of the vintage Masters of the Universe Line.

Thunder-Punch He Man Vinatge MOC
Thunder Punch He-Man Masters of the Universe 1985

According to The Battle Ram:

Thunder Punch He-Man was the “deluxe” version of He-Man that everyone in my grade school peer group coveted. The counterpart to Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Thunder Punch He-Man had a new an exciting action feature – you could load a ring of caps (of the kind typically used in toy revolvers of the era) into his backpack, twist his waist back, and he would spring forward with a power punch and a loud bang. It was quite the upgrade over the power punch feature typical of the line.

It was quite the upgrade over the power punch feature typical of the line.

Sculpt wise, the figure featured all new parts apart from the head and sword. The legs were based on the original, but he was given bigger feet to make him more stable. The sculpt unfortunately on the arms and torso is a bit soft and unfinished looking compared to the original. Befitting his action feature, his right fist is closed, ready at any time for a thunder punch. He also has painted bracers, something previous versions didn’t get.

His boots have white fur tops, which was actually how He-Man had been previously illustrated by Rudy Obrero and R.L. Allen. Earl Norem would occasionally depict him like that as well

He has a new harness design, sculpted onto the chest rather than as a separate piece. He keeps the “H” logo that first appeared on Battle Armor He-Man, and which also appeared on the side of the Dragon Walker and on Flying Fists He-Man. The symbol looks like a blend between an H and an M.

MOTU Classics Version

Thunder Punch He-Man was also developed for the Masters of the Universe Classics line. His description when he was released read “Might makes right, and it’s lights out for anyone who battles this beefy bruiser! Thunder Punch™ He-Man® is back to fight the good fight, and he kicks it up a notch by calling on the Powers of Grayskull™ to strengthen his weapons, giving him even more bang for the buck!” He came with removable chest armor, a power sword, shield, a thunder punch effect, a “cap” accessory, and a 30th anniversary mini comic! (#1 in a series of 3).

His MOTU Classics bio reads: “When Skeletor banished Randor to Despondos, he used Faker to convince the royal court that He-Man was not only a Gar, but also responsible for the King’s “death.” This ruse turned the people of Eternia against He-Man and the Masters soon became renegades in their own land. Driving to the underground caves of Tundoria, the Masters reformed as an elite attack squad. They returned to the surface and found not only Skeletor ruling Eternia, but King Hssss and a newly returned Hordak also challenging for control. To enhance his strength for these new battles ahead, He-Man used the Powers of Grayskull to energize his weapons, giving them a new Thunder Punch to combat evil!”

Sy-Klone was introduced into the Masters of the Universe toy line in 1985. Given that the cartoon series was drawing to a close by the time he was introduced, his role in the show is so brief as to be almost nonexistent. He appears only in minor, fleeting cameo appearances in two episodes: “Beauty and the Beast” and “Here, There, Skeletors Everywhere”.

MOTU Classics Version

Sy-Klone was produced in the MOTU Classics line 2011. He sported the classic yellow and blue paint app and his lenticular sticker in the middle of his chest. They also added a yellow sheild to his arensal a red hulahoop (kidding!!!) looking cyclone ring.

Sy-Klone’s MOTU Classics bio reads: “Protector of the Legacy Stones and the Last Defender of Anwat Gar, Sy-Klone joined the Masters of the Universe alter the Stones were destroyed and his mission completed. He wears the last remaining TECH vest Armor created by his Gar ancestors to terrorize Eternia alter the Great Wars. Its built-in wind rockers allow the user to create powerful vortexes of spinning energy as a defensive weapon or to fly through the air. Sy-Klone has upgraded his Armor to also include cosmic radar which lets him sense the physical presence of evil long before others. Sy-Klone’s wind Powers and radar Cheste make him combat ready!”

The reveal of Sk-Klone for the MOTU Origins line was music to collectors ears.

His torso will still pop off and he actually spins. He comes with 2 extra hands that are tornados, shield, red cyclone rings like what came with the MOTU Classics figure. You pop his torso up and he spins! Sy-Klone maintains all the same articulation as the rest of the figures. He has is lenticular sticker on his chest as well.

Thank to motu.revolution for posting a comparison of the Sy-Klone Origins and vintage figures!

Sy-Klone Masters of the Universe Origins Vintage Comparison

Emperor Hordak

We know that Hordak will play a major role in the upcoming Masters of the Universe Revolution Netflix series and we’ve seen his animated form in promos from Mattel! We are speculating that the Emperor Hordak figure will likely fall into the Masters of the Universe Revolution subline given the impending release of the series and there was no former MOTU figure by that name.

Given the oversized armor and stature of Hordak, we are guessing that he will be developed like Skelegod and be an oversized deluxe figure.

A member of the Evil Horde, he is an amphibian-like creature, of a large and bulky build with green skin and suction pads on his hands, feet and mouth. It is these suction pads that provide him with his main power: to suck and drain the life-force from his opponent, rendering them helpless against him.

Vintage Figure

Leech was released in the Masters of the Universe line in 1984 and appeared in the She-Ra and the Princess of Power Filmation cartoon. Like other MOTU figures, like Clawful, Leech did not fully resemble his cartoon appearance.

Leech appears in animated form in She-Ra: Princess of Power, in which the Horde are the main villains. He is regularly seen among the main Horde members, but rarely showcases his power suction ability and receives generally little character development and no episodes feature him in a spotlight role.

MOTU Classics Version

Leech was procuded for the Masters of the Universe Classics line in 2011.

Leech’s bio reads: “A Slebetor Slug-man from deep in the Lake of Gnarl, Leech was called from the depths by a magic spell of Hordak to bolster his forces against King Grayskull and the Snake Men during the Great Wars. Mindwiped by Hordak’s lead witch, Leech became a loyal member of his Horde Army, using his magically enhanced energy-draining powers to suck enemies of their strength. He later played a key role in the Horde’s fight against the Great Rebellion after Hordak claimed Etheria as a new homeworld during their banishment in Despondos. When called upon in battle, Leech sucks the power from his enemies!”

Deluxe Horde Trooper

Horde Troopers are foot soldiers of the Horde Empire. Although each trooper is individually unremarkable, in large numbers they are used to great effect in the occupation of Etheria by Hordak. Vast armies of Horde Troopers were also used during the Horde’s failed invasion of Eternia. The early Horde Trooper concepts look nothing like the vintage toy. As the Battle Ram Blog states, “As Mattel and Filmation worked very closely on the She-Ra series and its characters and concepts, the Horde Trooper concept is a no-brainer. An army for the main villain in the series, as well as a collect-your-own-army idea from toy marketing POV. In the script and concept, as well as the storyboard for Into Etheria, we get a look at an early design, which gives the characters a heavily-armored and barbaric look. It’s clear that these troopers (or Hordesmen) are organic beings. One is human with a scar on his face, another is reptilian, and the third is a hawk hordesman.”

In a more futuristic illustration, the Horde Trooper looks a lot like the modern day Roboto figure as Mattel iterated the concept to look more futuristic.

As the concepts for the Horde Trooper progressed, the design closely resembles the vintage figure we all know and love.

The Horde Trooper vintage figure, and subsequent designs, stayed true to the final concept so we are excited to get a new iteration of the Horde Trooper for the Masterverse line.

Source: We Are Toys

MOTU Classics Version

The Horde Trooper was released as a single carded figure and as part of a Horde Trooper 2-pack.

The Horde Trooper’s MOTU Classics bio reads: In his factories on Etheria and later Eternia, Hordak mass produces countless robotic enforcers. Each is dressed in armor similar to the foot soldiers of his home planet Horde World. Linked to a central computer brain, Horde Troopers can be programmed to follow any evil command they are given. With the robotic strength to overpower all enemies of his empire, Hordak’s troopers are more than a match for most enemies. On command from their master, the vicious troopers attack heroic warriors until He-Man lands a powerful punch – causing them to fall apart!”

MOTU Classics Alternate Heads

The cool aspect of the MOTU Classics line brought MOTU goodies as extra packins and accessories for other figures. For example, the Horde Trooper had three alternate head designs packed in with the General Sundar figure. For example, here is the Marine Trooper alternate head! Given that we know the Horde Trooper will be a deluxe figure in the Masterverse line, we hope that he comes with alternate heads like he did in the past.

Here is the alternate head for the appearance of the Horde Trooper in the Secret of the Sword.

Here is the alternate head as the Horde Trooper appeared in the DC comics line.

MOTU Origins

Vypor and Reptilax

We received some anonymous information regarding future Masters of the Universe Origins figures! Reptilax and Vypor were characater concepts, developed by the one and only Axel Gimemez, and were unproduced in the MOTU Classics era. The MOTU Origins line will be breathing new life into these concepts are they are slotted to be coming to the Masters of the Origins line as Fan Channel exclusives. Fan Channel-Exclusive items are carried by multiple retailers that focus on toy collectors. This usually includes online retailers such as Big Bad Toy Store and Entertainment Earth. Reptilax and Vypor, who’ve been teased on prior MOTU Origins card art, and it’s great to see them finally on the roadmap!

Deep Cut Snake Men Teases

Axel Gimenez is recognized for his dynamic art style and his ability to capture the iconic characters and settings of the MOTU universe. His illustrations have brought new life to the adventures of He-Man, Skeletor, and their allies and enemies. In the prolific days of the Masters of the Universe Classics era, Axel had come up with countless concepts for figures that were never produced as actual figures and the MOTU Origins lines is providing a canvas for his work to come alive in plastic. In fact, three out of the 6 figures in his latest image he posted to Instagram are either teased or being produced in the MOTU Origins line. This article is meant to keep a running log of the deep cut teases and official announcements for brand new figures making it into the Masters of the Universe Origins line.

Snake Men

The most recent teases we’ve seen come from Lady Slither’s card art! Below is a full view of the front card back art that features Vypor and Reptilax (along with Strettch Nekk and Fang-Or)

Here are an up close image of the card art that features Vypor, the character on the left under Lady Slither’s staff and Reptilax (as seen in the middle).

Reptilax can seen in multiple locations of the Camo Khan Card art. Illustrated standing by King Hiss’ throne and also coming thru a portal with Camo Khan, Lord Gr’asp & Terroar along with Reptilax, an unproduced Classics concept, look ready to attack. With Reptilax making an appearance on Lady Slither’s card art will make his second tease.

Reptilax is another figure Axel designed using a character who appeared in the vintage mini-comics. And he’s also appeared in Origins materials – both on Kol-Darr’s card and in the Camo Khan comic as well as the card art. However, other than parts from He-Man and King Hiss, he requires parts from Tuvar (Two Bad has been teased but yet to be released and Laser Light Skeletor plus he uses parts from Fang Man. While he could be a way for Mattel to work their way to Fang Man and is a reuse of Tuvar parts, which gives them more use out of the eventual Two-Bad figure which itself has limited re-uses.

Reptilax bio

We came across a 3D rendering of a MOTU Origins style Reptilax figure so you can see what this figure might look like it if was produced.

As designed in the MOTU Classics line, Vypor would reuse parts from Snake Face, Lord Dactus and Prahvus but he would need new armor, a new head and a new neck piece. What does make him a possibility is that his head sculpt is inspired by the Snake Tower from the Eternia playset, which comes out in 2024. Also as Mattel goes deeper into 200x , we could see Lord Dactus (who’s trademark was recently renewed by Mattel) and Prahvus as possible figures they could make out of Vypor., who are are both unique characters to that era of MOTU and strong contenders for figures for the MOTU Origins line.

Vypor MOTU Origins Concept

Here is a custom concept of Vypor, from the MOTU Classics line, created by the talented Orsogranito Granitebear Shop! You can see the nods to Viper Tower with the shape of the Snake Head , the chains, and the manta spy!

MOTU Cartoon Collection

Since the reveal and figure drops for the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection, we’ve seen the first 6 figures for that line and we hope to see more. As Mattel stands up the line and is thinking about the future, we wanted to circle back to a tease we first so on the MOTU Origins Snake Mountain box art! As we know, the teases on the MOTU Origins card art and box, most of the time, manifest themselves into plastic form. The most recent evidence of this was the massive MOTU Origins Skelebration figure drop that revealed Terroar, Lord Gr’asp, and a brand new figure called Necro-Conda are coming to the line! With new figures brings new card art and speculation so it’s exciting to see what new figures or vehicles we might see teased on not only the mainline figures, but the exclusive as well since there is more room for the illustrations on the full cardbacks. To sweeten the deal, an anonymous source has disclosed that The Collector is in the works and will be released as a vehicle for the Cartoon Collection.

Snake Mountain Box Art Tease

With the confirmation of Lord Gr’asp, Terroar, Necro-Conda, the other teases on the MOTU Origins Snake Mountain have a better chance at landing in the MOTU Origins line. With the three aforementioned characters crossed off the list, only two teases remain! The Collector and Two-Bad, who has been teased on many a card art and now box art!

The Collector

As we examine the new card for the Cartoon Collection, we are also seeing more figure teases and a vehicle would not be too far fetched an idea to ponder! The Collector is an aircraft used by Skeletor in his attacks upon the forces of good in Eternia. It resembles a skull with large pincers on each side of the hull. According to the MOTU Character Guide and World Compendium Volume 2:

The Collector Filmation Cartoon

“The Collector was Skeletor’s personal flying ship, named for its specially designed ability to “collect” enemies by turning them into stone and harvesting their life energy. Skeletor created the ship with the intention of using its abilities to resurrect the sleeping stone giant Colossor. Skeletor also used the Collector to infuse life into statues, turning them against He-Man and his allies. The Collector resembled a large dark-blue skull, with a yellow visor-like windshield where the eyes would be and two large, pincer-like claws that acted as energy weapons. The vessel also had a spine-like line of sharp fins along the top of its hull and a single door on the side. Although He-Man seemingly caused Skeletor and the Collector to crash and plunge into the bottomless gorge around Castle Grayskull, both Skeletor and his ship later returned. He no longer employed its life-force-draining capability and used it mainly as a simple attack craft and as transportation. The Collector returned briefly as Skeletor’s transport during an attack on the Royal Palace. He-Man easily broke through the ship’s hull to thwart the villain.”

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: A Character Guide and World Compendium Volume 2

Cartoon Collection She-Ra and Bow

An anonymous source reports that She-Ra and Bow figures have been tooled for the MOTU Origins, meaning that She-Ra and Bow are potentially coming to the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection in 2024! Since we already have She-Ra in the Origins line, one can only deduce that these must be Cartoon Collection subline figures! Especially with Bow being a character that came directly from the Filmation animated Series, She-Ra Princess of Power. The MOTU Origins line has not had any real Princess of Power characters added to it since the Wave 3 She-Ra standard release and the 2020 She-Ra Power Con exclusive. This could perhaps be timed for 2024 when it’s the actual anniversary of She-Ra, and maybe an announcement at the end of the year, but right now this is speculation, so only time will tell.

The She-Ra: Princess of Power cartoon was an animated television series that aired from 1985 to 1987. It was produced by Filmation and served as a spin-off and sister show to the popular He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series. The show follows the adventures of Adora, a young woman who was raised as a member of the Evil Horde, a tyrannical force led by the villainous Hordak. However, she later discovers that she is the long-lost twin sister of Prince Adam, also known as He-Man, and is destined to become the Princess of Power, She-Ra.

Adora, after realizing the injustice and cruelty of the Horde, rebels against Hordak and embraces her true identity as the empowered She-Ra. She is granted incredible strength, agility, and a magical sword that transforms her into She-Ra. With her newfound abilities and a group of loyal friends known as the Great Rebellion, She-Ra sets out on a mission to liberate the planet of Etheria from the Horde’s oppressive rule. Throughout the series, She-Ra and her allies engage in various adventures, battling Hordak, his minions, and other villains in their quest for freedom and justice. The show often focuses on empowering young viewers through its portrayal of a strong female protagonist, highlighting themes of courage, friendship, and determination.

The She-Ra: Princess of Power cartoon was lauded for its positive representation of female characters and its notable influence on the development of strong female superheroes in children’s animation. It also featured nuanced storytelling, memorable characters, and impressive animation for its time. In recent years, the She-Ra franchise has been revitalized with a new animated series on Netflix, titled She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, which premiered in 2018. The new series reimagines the characters and storyline, introducing it to a new generation while still paying homage to the original beloved cartoon.

Filmation She-Ra

She-Ra is a fictional character who originated from the animated television series titled “She-Ra: Princess of Power,” which was produced by Filmation and aired from 1985 to 1986. The character was created as a counterpart and sister to He-Man, who originated from the companion series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.” Both shows were based on Mattel’s toy line.

In the series, She-Ra is a heroic figure and the alter ego of Princess Adora, the twin sister of Prince Adam (He-Man). Adora was raised as a Force Captain in the evil Horde army on the planet of Etheria until she discovers the truth about her origins. She learns that she was kidnapped as a baby from her true family, the royal rulers of Eternia, and was brainwashed into serving the Horde.

After realizing the truth, Adora sides with the Great Rebellion, a group of rebels fighting against the Horde’s oppression. She gains the Sword of Protection, a magical weapon similar to He-Man’s Sword of Power. By raising the sword high and exclaiming, “For the Honor of Grayskull,” Adora transforms into She-Ra, the Princess of Power. She becomes the leader of the Great Rebellion and dedicates herself to freeing Etheria from the Horde’s control.

She-Ra possesses superhuman strength, agility, and speed, making her a formidable warrior. She also has the ability to communicate with animals, has an empathic link with her horse Swift Wind, and can summon a protective force field called the “She-Ra shield.” She is often seen riding Swift Wind into battle and fighting for justice alongside her allies.

The character of She-Ra gained popularity and became an icon of female empowerment in the 1980s. She was notable for being a strong, independent female hero in a predominantly male-dominated superhero genre. Her character also inspired various merchandise, including action figures, comics, and even a Netflix reboot series titled “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power” in 2018.

She-Ra was created by Mattel in 1985 as a counterpart to He-Man, and she was initially designed to appeal to a female demographic. And as such, she had to get her own line of Action Figures. She had 5 points of articulation like most of the action figures of the 1980’s at that time.

The She-Ra Vintage Action Figure featured a highly detailed sculpt and came with actual rooted hair which kids could style and comb. She-Ra stood at around 6 inches tall and came with various accessories, including her iconic sword, shield, and removable cape.

The character of She-Ra is known for her distinctive appearance, which is reflected in the action figure. She has long flowing blonde hair, a tiara, and a battle outfit consisting of a white dress with gold accents and red boots. The figure captures these features well, accurately representing the design of the character.

The She-Ra Vintage Action Figure was released in the mid-1980s and quickly became popular among fans of the Masters of the Universe franchise. While it was primarily marketed towards children, it has since gained a dedicated following among collectors. The figure is considered a classic representation of the character and is highly sought after by enthusiasts.

The value of the She-Ra Vintage Action Figure can vary depending on its condition, rarity, and packaging. Mint-condition figures still in their original packaging are usually valued higher than loose figures. Collectors often display these figures in their collections or keep them preserved as nostalgic pieces of pop culture history.
